Khawam
Printing Office: 51 years in the world of quality printing.
In 1920, Antoine Khawam joined the technical school in Egypt;
he then worked in printing offices there before moving to France
and working in printing too.
When he returned to Lebanon, he worked in the Catholic Printing
Office as head of department and stayed there until 1948. In the
next year, he established with his son Richard a printing office
in Fakhri Beik street. At that time, printing offices were not sophisticated
and faced many difficulties. But Khawam Printing Office was able
to overcome these difficulties and distinguish itself thanks to
the quality of its work. Work prospered, developed and expanded
to foreign countries, especially Kuwait.
In 1975, it suffered great damages because of the war.
In 1977, the printing office was revived in Achrafieh, and
Toni Richard Khawam worked in it profiting from the experience of
his father and grandfather.
In the printing office transmitted by inheritance for 3 generations,
there is a printing machine in 4 colours where all preparation work
for printing is done.
Khawam printing office produces complete coloured printing works
of good quality and fine art.
